What an amazing week at the NPTV Production camp for middle schools students. In four short days, the students went from walking into a TV Studio for the first time, to producing three shows. On Wednesday, all of the students who wanted to be on-air discussed story ideas, wrote stories, shot video and edited packages. All of those on the technical side learned more about signal flow, how to use the newtek tricaster, camera placement, interview set-up and most important how to properly wrap a cable. Over, under, over, under, over, under......
Today we had three hours to prep and tape three separate shows. We did one practice run (didn't really need it) and one for air. We had a few hiccups here or there, but overall each show was of broadcast caliber. You can check out photos from today here. The Reporter was also here getting the story behind the story.
